Life at Cadet College Jaffarabad
Cadet College Jaffarabad is situated on 100 acres of lush, green land near Usata Muhammad, at the junction of Balochistan and Sindh provinces, close to the Cattle Farm area. Surrounded by vast agricultural fields, the campus provides a peaceful yet structured environment for the academic, physical, and moral grooming of future leaders of Pakistan. The college comprises modern academic blocks, well-equipped science laboratories, administrative offices, residential hostels, playgrounds, and training areas. Its central parade ground serves as the focal point of daily activities, parades, and ceremonial occasions, reflecting unity, discipline, and institutional spirit. Cadet College Jaffarabad was established as part of a national initiative aimed at promoting quality education in the underdeveloped regions of Balochistan. This visionary project was launched under the special guidance of then President General (Retd) Pervez Musharraf, to extend the network of cadet colleges across the province. In the initial phase, three cadet colleges were approved in Balochistan: Cadet College Qila Saifullah, Cadet College Jaffarabad, and Cadet College Pishin. On the directives of the Federal Government, the Government of Balochistan allocated state-owned land at Cattle Farm, Jaffarabad for the establishment of this institution. The foundation stone of the college was laid in 2006 by then Chief Minister of Balochistan, Jam Muhammad Yousaf. The construction work was executed by the Buildings & Works (B&W) Department, Government of Balochistan. Since the permanent campus was not completed immediately, the first batch of cadets was temporarily accommodated at Cadet College Mastung for one academic year, where they continued their academic and military training. After the completion of academic blocks, hostels, and other essential facilities in 2009, Cadet College Jaffarabad formally commenced its regular operations on its own campus with an initial intake of 30 cadets. The college began its academic journey under the leadership of its first Principal, Mr. Abdul Jabbar, who was then serving as Vice Principal at Cadet College Mastung. His efforts laid the foundation for discipline, academic excellence, and institutional organization. From 2009 to 2018, the college was led by five distinguished civilian principals, who played a key role in its administrative development and academic consolidation. Since 2018, the leadership of Cadet College Jaffarabad has been entrusted to serving Brigadiers of the Pakistan Army, bringing professional military guidance and a renewed outlook to the institution. The College Emblem reflects the spirit, mission, and regional identity of Cadet College Jaffarabad. The crossed swords symbolize the military character and disciplined life of the cadets. The wheat ears represent Jaffarabad as the agricultural belt of Balochistan, signifying prosperity and growth. The torch and raised hand stand for enlightenment and positive change through education, while the open book represents the power of knowledge and wisdom.
